Determined Colour
Instead of having gamers make up/choose the colour of their horse, could it be pre set?
Hope that made sense.

Re: Determined Colour
We don't choose the color of the horse. We have to use our knowledge of horse colors to figure out what they are. The genetics are programmed into the game, but we can't see them--just like in real life. Eventually, I believe there will be an option to test for certain genes, but it hasn't been implemented yet.

Re: Determined Colour
I think what ruby is referring to is the fact that after a horse is born/adopted it is up to the owner to type in what color it is. The suggestion would be that the game fills in the color once it is known instead of it having to be manually typed in.

The guessing game is fun

Re: Determined Colour
I like he idea of it showing the genetic formulae! Then you have the option of a more solid piece of evidence rather than trying again and again before realising it's impossible to get as your missing a gene XD

Gene testing will be a thing.

Re: Determined Colour
I personally like having to fill in the colours. It's just another way to keep the game interesting.

Re: Determined Colour
I know I am new, but a stud is more valuable if it has pretty genetics and I think a starting player that cant afford a top of the line stud could collect better fees if they could Prove he has good color genes like I have done with my own rescue horse Rocky

Re: Determined Colour
trying to identify the true color is the most enjoyable thing in the game for me myself ^^ but being able the use standard expressions for color would sometimes be more sensible than people just naming it as they see fit (really annoying searching for blacks and getting browns for the most part; or duns being called grey/silver -.-) so if that is what ruby meant, I agree

Re: Determined Colour
I could agree with have a few pre-sets. Maybe have a 'base' value of color - pre-sets for black, brown, bay, chestnut then have the actual color to be filled in with whatever.
I've seen my fair share of duns being called blue roans or even our notorious pseudo-whites. I do certainly like being able to search for colors, but if they don't have a color or if it's wrong, so many are so easily overlooked or missed.
