Thank you Satinka

Re: And now, the what color is my horse forum!
I am a little unsure about several horses

I am fairly certain that she is (wild?) bay dun

Another bay dun?

brown (with pangare)?

brown dun?

Here I am really unsure. She should have Cr, but is she champagne, too? She doesn´t have spots on her nose, but she seems to light for just palomino/buckskin.
And how could I know if she is palomino or buckskin with silver?

Re: And now, the what color is my horse forum!
The first four are spot on.
The fifth, Ava, is champagne. She just has very light freckling on her nose and her eye is hazel. When a horse has both cream and champagne, even just one gene of each, it turns a color very similar to a double cream, only discernable by the eye color and skin freckling. I also think she's a bay horse underneath everything, but I could be really wrong on that.
On your silver question, you only need to worry about silver buckskin. Silver palomino is not a thing that can happen as silver only works on black hairs. A silver buckskin is easily recognized by it's general buckskin color, white mane and tail, and somewhat greenish legs.

Signature? I don't need no stinkin' signature! Everybody knows who I am already!

The first is also mealy/pangare.
The last is Single Cream Champagne on Bay. There appears to be no silver in the pedigree. Chestnut based horses are usually an even color throughout the body, whereas bay based horses have different colored legs.

Thank you both;)
I know you can´t see silver on ee based horses. But a palomino would have a white mane like a silver buckskin. Thats why I asked.
And I forgot that buckskins have dark legs.
Interesting to know about the different colored legs, I only knew about darker legs.

My first foal born.
I'm guessing he's chestnut with pangare? Out of a chestnut x bay cross.

Too early to tell. In real life and on HWO, bay and chestnut foals look remarkably similar. You should have a better idea of his color by the time he's a year old.DreamOfSpring wrote:http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/675

I adopted this chestnut mare today. Am I right guessing she's a flaxen chestnut?
