What color will my foal be?

Post by ᴠαelyrια »

Hi!

Does someone know what color this foal will be? I have no idea, since its parents are bay and black.

Thanks!

Baranduin Brewster is correct. Your foal will be a buckskin.

One cream gene that she inherited from her father. He is a cream carrier and must then be a smoky black and not just straight black.
No dun. The parents cannot pass on genes that they, themselves do not have. Your filly could show pangare if her father has it (pangare doesn't show on black coats). Other than that, she could also be hiding flaxen or brown genes.

In our color forum, there's a couple guides that help us identify our colors and one in particular that offers the genetics our AC horses can carry.
