Tekes

Post by MoonRiver130 »

I was just thinking about it and it occurred to me that we don't actually know if Arabian horses contributed to the development of Tekes. There's still a debate over which came first, if they both didn't originate around the same time. So that struck me as odd that the arabian is a default breed but the teke isn't.

I don't know why it took me until just now to notice.

There are a number of breeds that can be considered 'ancient', but for the sake of the game I made some decisions to limit the number of starting breeds. The Teke is one of those breeds that didn't make the cut. Mostly because we have the Turkmene which some believe is what the Akhal-Teke developed from.

Gotcha. I mean it makes sense, otherwise there would be like 20 or something since the early records are all over the place, but it made me curious. Thanks. I suppose this would have been more appropriate in questions. Sorry about that!
