Silver Dapple Appaloosa Project - Success!
It has been a couple of months of trials with a few pitfalls, such as scrapping my first line because they didn't meet my standards. I was hoping to breed a line that resemble the old type Appaloosa favored by the Nez Perce tribe, instead of the bull dog type.
Finally, I manage to get a 100% Lp pattern Appaloosa foal with the Silver Dapple coloring
Once I get a few more of Appaloosa, I will turn my attention to Silver Dapple Walkaloosas and POAs.

Beautiful horse...great work! Doesn't it suck when you have to keep culling foals until you get what you want? I feel like that's all I do with this QH project my partner and I are working on....we're very picky with evaluation scores, want 5* but 4* is allowed if it's height....about a gazillion or so substandard foals later, I have one 5*, and two acceptable 4*....Baranduin Brewster wrote:It has been a couple of months of trials with a few pitfalls, such as scrapping my first line because they didn't meet my standards. Actually, it doesn't actually suck...keeps my ranches from filling up and a few of them I re purposed and put into various other lines, to improve their stats (and hopefully added the gene too).JillJessie1997 wrote:Beautiful horse...great work! Well this is true and is a positive to constantly having to keep culling. I guess I should say it gets very frustrating after a while and makes you want to quit out of rageBaranduin Brewster wrote:Actually, it doesn't actually suck...keeps my ranches from filling up and a few of them I re purposed and put into various other lines, to improve their stats (and hopefully added the gene too).JillJessie1997 wrote:

Re purposed...hmm...I'll be doing that when I get a couple of acceptable rated Danish Warmblood foals on the ground, crossing them with either my superior Arabians or the ones on the market to get a higher GP and gold/green stats suitable for show jumping
