Thin and fat?
Hi there.
I'm just really confused and needing help, so if you know anything, it would really help me! Thank you..
One of my ponies, Dust Cloud, has been going from fat to extremely fat. Then my other horse, Cocoa Bean, has gone from thin to very thin. I have no idea what's up with this, and I am very confused. Does it have anything to do with the amount of training?
Thanks for any advice.

Re: Thin and fat?
There are three factors at play in how thin or fat a horse is right now, and one of them is training. The other two are natural inclination toward being fat or being thin and energy use for growth. Large horses that are growing a lot will be thin, even more so if you put an extra demand on them by training. If you have a very fat horse, you may thin it down by heavy training. If you have a very thin horse, it might get fatter if you let it sit in the pasture and do its thing. However, that's not something that makes a big difference at this time. When feeding is implemented you'll have that extra tool to influence your horse's weight, but for now the best practice is simply to let it fall by the wayside and not worry about it.
