Can't figure out this dilution, please help!

I have this stallion

I'm pretty sure he is double diluted but for the life of my I can't figure out if he's double cream or cream pearl or something else I haven't thought of yet. Pretty sure he's a chestnut base - but the longer I stare at him the more I think I see a color difference in his lower legs. I'm pretty sure he isn't champagne - but he was so golden when he was little I can't seem to find any horses that match. Now that he is varnishing out it's becoming even harder to tell. Any help is seriously appreciated!

He is palomino pearl. He was too dark as a youngster to be cremello. His mother is also just silver sable champagne. His sire was cremello which means he couldn't have pearl, so the pearl had to come from mom and since she's not showing as pearl + cream dilute she can't have cream if she has to have the pearl. (Sorry if that was confusing - the takeaway is that the mare is silver sable with a hidden pearl.)

Are you sure mom isn't sable cream? She looks much too light, at least to me, even in her younger pictures to not be diluted. But maybe that's just the silver having that effect? Or she varnished early?

Palomino pearl makes sense to me though, maybe I should try getting some sleep and looking at him in the morning

Quite sure. Basically my entire Vlad herd is sable or brown so I have quite a bit of experience with it.

This horse is a sable cream for comparison.

And here is his yearling picture versus your mare (colt on left mare on right). Varnish doesn't start to affect the coat until after 1 year so it wouldn't be showing on either at this point (and the colt doesn't have it anyway). Colt is somewhat shiny due to training.

Ok that helps a lot. I can definitely see how she is more brown/golden compared to your stallion, especially in the side by side. Thanks for the help, I'll have to go through this morning and update both her and Disco's information. Now I'm just glad she hasn't retired yet and I have the chance to fix her!
