Evaluation Books

Post by RilkaGreen »

This may just be my understanding of the eval books, but the build function seems a little off. For example, I evaluated http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/8141 for Shire. The build says ideal is Medium to Heavy, and the horse is Heavy. But it's still rated as a poor match?

The visible build, as it were, very light to very heavy, is a combination of type and body size, with type being weighted more heavily. So your horse's type is likely perfect for Shire, but his body size is off. When the game creates his visible build and calls him heavy and then rates him as too heavy for Shire, part of what's in play there is the type vs. body size and also some uncertainty in taking a particular number and turning it into something like medium or heavy. Say that for a Shire, the ideal size is 40-60, and the size for a horse to be called Heavy is 60-70. Shires then, are Heavy, just not all the way through the range of heavy. Your boy, hypothertically, is size 65, therefore heavy, but in a range of heavy that Shire does not include.
Signature? I don't need no stinkin' signature! Everybody knows who I am already!

Aha. Thank you for clarifying that.
