New to Game

Post by winchesterduh »

Hi there! I'm new to this game, obviously. I'm looking for tips and advice from experienced breeders and training. I am heading to read Qs&As ASAP. I already enjoy this game a lot! :)

It depends on what you're looking to do. The quick start guide is handy for newbies and it should get you over the first couple of 'what is this, now?'

Another couple of questions that come up normally are: COI (coefficient of inbreeding), it's an estimated value of how closely the previous seven generations are.
Starving/overfed horses: They won't die, but it's good practice right now to get a handle on it for when the feeding system is corrected.
Training: you won't be able to train a horse to 100% in any stat (some of them you'll be able to finish, but only after you finish some of your trainer skills). You do not need to train to breed better.
Breeding: HGP (horse genetic potential) is the numerical value of the breeder's report (the report is the estimated compilation of genes and conformation of the horse). Neither of these change during aging. You can have either a better foal, or a worse foal. Don't forget, just because you don't get what you want at first, doesn't mean that your horse can't give you it.
It's All About Genetics.

Welcome, and enjoy!

Welcome! Running local shows is a great way to make money and get a few extra days for training. You'll get the biggest bang by competing at the highest level of local show you can. There's usually a few nice horses for sale that are affordable to new players and they can be used to run the level 7-10 local shows when you're just getting started.

To compete in local shows go to your horse's page and click on the 'Local Shows' tab under the breeder report.

The best advice I could give would be don't be tempted to spend your pony tokens. Save them until you have 500 then use them to upgrade your account. you get pony tokens from participating in local shows.

If you don't know what to breed, do the breeding quest, it's a slow but still a way to earn pony tokens, some money and some Xp. The breed's recipe can be found under "help" > "breeds wiki". The offspring is usually pretty rare and can be sold for a lot of money if you find a rare collector to buy them.
