Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Dutch Warmblood
So, one of my goals is to breed a Dutch Warmblood. It's going to take a while, but hopefully someday I will have a barn full of really nice Dutch Warmbloods!
Anyway, I made a little breeding guide that kind of brings you through getting the breeds needed to breed a DW. Looking through the breeds wiki can be really time consuming sometimes! I hope this will be helpful to some people that are trying to accomplish similar goals as I am. I've also added a few more interesting facts and such at the end.
First we start off with the native breeds, then work our way up!
[ Przewalski Horse x Tarpan ] x Tarpan = Mongolian
[ Tarpan x Mongolian ] x [ Tarpan x West African Barb ] = Sorraia
West African Barb x Sorraia = Carthusian
[ Sorraia x Carthusian ] x [ Sorraia x West African Barb ] = Andalusian
Forest Horse x [ Arabian x Andalusian ] = Friesian
Exmoor Pony x [ Exmoor Pony x Friesian ] = Galloway
Arabian x Turkmene = Akhal-Teke
[ Arabian x North African Barb ] x [ Akhal-Teke x Galloway ] = Thoroughbred
Thoroughbred x [ Arabian x Thoroughbred ] = Anglo-Arabian
[ Turkmene x Mongolian ] x [ Arabian x Thoroughbred ] = Trakhner
Thoroughbred x [ Arabian x North African Barb ] = Cleveland Bay
[ Thoroughbred x Cleveland Bay ] x Cleveland Bay = Norfolk Trotter
[ Thoroughbred x Trakhner ] x [ Norfolk Trotter x Cleveland Bay ] = Holstein
Thoroughbred x Holstein = Hanoverian
[ Andalusian x Anglo-Arabian ] x Hanoverian = East Friesan
[ Andalusian x East Friesian ] x [ North African Barb x Thoroughbred ] = Oldenburg
[ Arabian x Oldenburg ] x [ Norfolk Trotter x Andalusian ] = Gelderlander
[ Friesian x East Friesian ] x Oldenburg = Groningen
[ Thoroughbred x Trakhner ] x [ Gelderlander x Groningen ] = Dutch Warmblood!

Dutch Warmbloods are known to be excellent for dressage and show jumping, and they compete at the highest level of their sport. In fact, in 2010 they were ranked the #1 jumping breed by The World Breeding Federation for Sport Horses(WBFSH). They can even be found at World Cups and the Olypics! The ideal height is around 15.2hh - 16hh. This breed also has stong, sturdy, long legs, a rectangular like frame, and a warm, medium sized expressive head.
Once a few DW are around, I will give more info about them, current studs, what makes a good Dutch Warmblood, how to select mares/stallions, and a bunch of cool stuff.

Re: Dutch Warmblood
I am focusing on trying to breed friesians and they're on the list so probably my breeding goals will be helpful for you as well. So far I've managed to get a few West African Barbs and one Sorraia. Trying to breed more sorraias and carthusians right now but it takes time and a lot of failures.

Re: Dutch Warmblood
That's great Totina, congrats on the Sorraia! Right now I am working on getting a couple WAB and mongolians.

Re: Dutch Warmblood
I've actually managed to breed a carthusian now as well. 3 Sorraias so far and 2 carthusians (one is sold to another player though.)

Alrighty... Deep Breath...
I love Dutch Warmbloods, so I'm in for the long haul here with you!
