Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Groninger Paard
The Groninger Paard (Groningen Horse) is a rare heavy-build warmblood horse. It is multi versatile breed with a good character. Minimal height at 3 years old is 1.60m (15.3hh) for stallions and geldings and 1.57m (15.2hh) for mares. Most common colours are (dark) bay and black with little to no markings.

I have been working to creating the Groninger breed (as we live in Groningen). My collection is very colourful at the moment. Trying to concentrate on dark colours and higher HGP. My best mare so far is Frouwke. I prefer to use typical Groninger names for my Groningers.
Frouwke

If there is anyone out there breeding Groningers as well, I would like to 'meet' you. Perhaps we can exchange horses.
