Report for stealing horse and privet sales
Please please please add reporting for stealing horses. (also bad names would be nice too)
Too many people has had this problem and I just had it and now I'm quiet mad.
Privet sales would fix that but it is not up.. :/

I'm not too sure what I think about this. Reporting someone is a big step to take, and I think you should take it slowly first. Some players might not be too fluent in English and don't understand, so they just buy the horse. Even without the private sales feature, it would be much gentler and would be an nicer way to kindly ask for the horse back instead of reporting them without knowing if the player didn't understand the sales add or bought it by accident. And since private sales will be implemented very soon, this issue will be solved soon.
Just my honest opinion.

I don't believe this is necessary. You run the risk of someone else buying your horse when you decide to transfer it between your accounts/other players. But as mentioned above, private sales will be implemented soon so this won't be an issue much longer.GracelynEquus wrote:Please please please add reporting for stealing horses. Re: Report for stealing horse and privet sales
Personally, I really don't like the idea of players being able to report other players. It can very easily bog down our admins going through all the he-said-she-said.
There are some ways to report some things already in place, but they are limited.
As far as I'm concerned this is an adult-style game with under-age access ability and we all need to remember to try to play with a maturity that being an adult should offer us.
If you continue to have problems with stealing horses or accidental purchases, then wait until the private sales feature comes out, OR wait until the other person is online, get on chat together and sync your sales, OR have two separate browsers open at the same time to transfer horses from one to another account (you'll need two separate browser programs). If you can sync your sales to less than ten second 'at sale' ads, then chances that your horse will be accidentally bought will be decreased almost to nothing.
It takes time for a search for a horse to load on a page, so if both seller and buyer is already looking at the transfer horse, then the seller puts a horse up and the buyer simply refreshes the page... there might be a three second lag for page load. It's quick and efficient and the horse ends up with the 'correct' owner.
Every one of us (except maybe new members), know that when (or if) we put a horse up for sale with conditions (i.e. training transfer or select buyers) that the horse may not end up on the correct farm. We know this. It doesn't matter how much you put specifics for horses, if it's on the open market, anybody is allowed to purchase that horse. It is not right to yell, scream, moan or complain to another farm for purchasing a horse that 'wasn't meant for them'. You can ask, link both the 'new' owner and the horse, but if they say no, then that is the answer. This is the risk we take when selling horses on the open market and it isn't a surprise for us that a horse can be bought by anybody.
So use a different transfer option or wait until the feature comes in or don't transfer the horses. These aren't just your options, these are the options that WE ALL have.
For me, I do the double browser sync and the chat sync. My transfer horses have sale ads that are up for less than five seconds and have an odd sale amount (like 3542 dollars), so they have less a chance of appearing at the top or the first page of a sales search, or the bottom or last page if somebody were to run a search and browse the ads.
If you have problems syncing sales with a specific buyer because of time zone issues, then perhaps you can find somebody that is on when both of you is on, and go through that third party. That is the last suggestion I could offer on this.

Re: Report for stealing horse and privet sales
As things are now, new players don't get much background about the game unless they read the Help sections. There are the Tutorial and Quests, but they are rudimentary. Something every player would read ought to give some important facts about buying, like, a 20-year-old mare may only be able to produce one foal, and etiquette (READ THE AD and don't buy if it isn't meant for you).
To avoid "theft" I've found it helpful to charge at least $100 for the horse -- $1000 or more if you are really worried. I've also used headlines and ad texts like "DON'T BUY". One other thing, if I can I avoid doing transfers on weekends.
Tried to sell a "reward" pony to one of the winners of my Shetland Pony contest a few weeks ago, unfortunately for $1. Exchanged PMs with the winner and immediately posted the horse. Put "For ---- Only" as the ad headline. A few minutes later, the horse was bought by another person. Posted a message in "General Chit-Chat" and the buyer was good enough to repost the reward animal, so I got it back.
A little later I recontacted the winner and we made the exchange. But the other two winners don't have Premium status and don't seem to be online very often. I've asked them to post in the Contest thread about the Shetland challenge, but haven't seen responses. So they've gone unrewarded so far. I feel badly about this and have been waiting eagerly for Private Sales.

I'll have a look at the chat logs.

I think it's more that it's just sketchy behavior. Gender is irrelevant to gameplay here and to most discussions. Someone even bothering to state their gender and then correcting it later is weird.luckyhooves wrote:Wait so someone tells you that he's a girl but it turns out he's a guy and then you get scared..?
