I think I recall mention of the possibility of players uploading their own artwork into the game. I'm curious if a) I imagined this, and b) if it would apply to barn/pasture art.

No you didn't imagine this, and yes it will apply to barns and pastures too.
But it will be a little while before this is implemented. I have to look very closely at all the implications of this, but I absolutely want to create a big creative environment where plays can make and share their own farm, barn, pasture and tack art.
