I'm Back!
Once again I have returned to work on some new projects! Some people who have been here a while might know me from my many different projects I have started over the last 8 years. I've been very busy with school and work, but I always seem to find my way back here
. I am thinking about getting my username changed as I just don't feel it fits the game and it was an... interesting choice made by my younger self so if you have any suggestions I'm all ears! I'm excited to be back and am going to try and not go on a very long hiatus this time
.

Re: I'm Back!
Welcome back.
Good to see you're still kicking.
You have your farm named Winter Sage Farms. There's a number of winter people and sage people, but WSF is empty, as well as Winter Sage. If you want to change that as well... Then perhaps you can try out a name you might want to use in a future business (in real life) to see how it rolls for you. For example, if you're going into a veterinary practice, then give something like Feathers and Fur a try.

Hmmm ok! So I do train all my horses and focus a lot on stamina and a racing related stat. My current projects are 0% COI Arabs and Pavlavans so I kinda need a bunch of horses lol. I’ve taken to making a farm log to keep track of my projects. My problem right now is I needed some Arabian x Caspian crosses so I bred for those but now I’ve got like 5 short colts (I call them my tiny gentleman) running around my farm and I think they are a bit too short for the next pairing of the project. My solution was to breed them to my giant Arabs (like 20hh sobs) to get a good middle height (my little gentleman are 12hh max lol) but my experience with breeding for height is very hit or miss as you can probably tell, do you think this would work in your experience? (Ideal height would be 14-16hh for the resulting babies)WinterSage wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 7:13 pmUltimateHonseness wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 9:31 am

As far as a username I think I'm just going to stick to my roots and make it more similar to my farm name I made up a long time ago. Projects can get really complicated and really overwhelming for me personally if I don't keep good track of what I'm doing. My main tips that I think can be applied to any project would be to make sure you have a grinder and a way to get more grinders if you don't train your own horses, and to not keep a million horses for a project unless they truly meet the guidelines for your project. The best way I've found to make good bloodlines is to be really picky with the horses you breed and the horses you keep.

Yes, how many horses you need definitely vary from project to project; having less just helps me keep myself organized personally. I think breeding for height is definitely hit or miss like you said, and in my experience the only way to really get over this issue is to just keep breeding the horses and hope you get some taller foals. I think breeding to taller horses may definitely help the chances of this, but I know that's limited due to the nature of the project you're doing. I've also found that sometimes you can just get some taller/shorter foals after a few generations randomly, and that may have something to do with the earlier parts of the bloodline. I don't know every single detail of the game and may be a little rusty since I've been gone a while, but that's what I've found with breeding my own horses on here.UltimateHonseness wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 8:52 pmHmmm ok! Of course! If you need anything for your project that you can't find let me know! I have a bunch of random horses and pretty disposable amounts of money at the moment.

Re: I'm Back!
Do you happen to have any Galloway horses or an Arabian x North African bard cross? I’m trying to breed some thoroughbreds to help with the creation of another breed. A low COI thoroughbred would suffice as well, and any caspians/arabs might be of useWinterSage wrote: ↑Wed Jul 30, 2025 12:26 am
