Feeding
Anyone got tips about how to properly feed the horses? And is there a guide to show what to feed to get certain temperaments?

Re: Feeding
Hey! About feeding properly your horses, it's easier on a barn, but it depends on various facts. I usually give them this:
My saddleseat horses:
Hay - 25%
Alfalfa Hay - 25%
Yellow Corn - 25%
Sweet Feed - 25%
The other ones:
Alfalfa Hay - 25%
Alfalfa Cubes - 25%
Yellow Corn - 25%
Performance Mix - 25%
The last one covers protein, fiber and sugar. I'm not an expert, actually the opposite, but I hope this helps! On pastures, it depends on what percent of grass it's on the pastures. Also, if you especialize on a discipline. The first is for saddleseat, the second it's for general!
About the temperament, some people do change temperament for less money for newbies or for people that can't afford it, but I will search a little for you!
Hope it helps!
When I'm done searching, I will reply again!

This guide shows a little bit of info for you! I'm not a native english speaker, but I think it will be good for you to read it, so maybe you have more information about temperament then!
Also, to maintain the temperament, do not change the feeding. It's difficult to mantain a horse's temperament, but not impossible!
To decrease or increase temperament, you need to decrease or increase the sugar bar.
Copied info on the guide:
How much sugar your horse is eating determines its temperament. If you have a High Strung horse and want to lower its temperament, you need to lower its sugar intake. If you have a Bombproof horse and want to raise its temperament, you need to increase its sugar intake. Whether or not your horse is eating the right amount of sugar depends on the green bar and the blue bar. To increase temperament, the green bar should extend to the right of the blue bar. To decrease temperament, the green needs to stay to the left of the blue bar. To maintain a horse at its current temperament, the green bar should end as close to the middle of the blue bar as possible.
Bombproof, Calm, Even-Tempered, Spirited, and High Strung are the temperaments, the first one needs low sugar and the last, higher (I think)
so, in order: low, mid-low, mid, mid-high, high sugar.
Hope this helps,
(I'm not a 100% this info is correct, because I tried to do a summary of what I've read)
