Breeding Knabstruppers

Post by suou »

Hi, so I'm new here, I think I have a basic understanding of how to breed new breeds of horses, I've checked lots of guides and stuff!
Knabstruppers are my favourite breed of horse, so I wanted to have some. I was wondering if taking a Knabstrupper stud and breeding him with any other horse breed would work to create a half Knabstrupper and half other breed? Would I have to use a certain breed (Spanish Barbs and Frederiksborgs since they are what is needed to create a Knabstrupper)? Or would none of that work and would I have to go the way of breeding them from other horse breeds entirely?
Thank you for your help :3c

On this game, we can breed to other breeds and eventually breed back into a purebreed (we don't have something like a Grade Arabian on this game). So, yes, you can make a Knabstrupper x Arabian (or any other cross) and then eventually the descendants can become purebred Knabstrupper again.

Here's a few tips:
Breeding four breeds together (parent horse A is arab x knab and parent horse B is tarpan x TB), you will get your Grade horse. Grade horses have many uses, including in the breeding shed for purebreds.
Crossing a purebred Knab to a grade will result in a half Knab with no other listed breed.
Crossing a half and half knab (any other breed named) to a grade will result in a grade.
Breeding a half and half knab (any other breed named) to another breed (outside of your two already named breeds) may result in a grade (depends on the percentages of the other two breeds named).
If you breed from scratch or from earlier breeds in the recipe, you want to evaluate the parents on the resulting breed that you want.
Resulting recipe breeds are never guaranteed. Even with perfect 5 star resulting foals, it's still a coin toss for if the new breed will result.
