okay so basically looking at the stallion I would go ahead and put him on weight gain and just get him very fat or at least fleshy then I would start looking into fixing his temperament. What temp are you trying to get him too?
as for the foals what are you trying to do? I'm not seeing any problems with weight at the moment. For the foals ration adjustment you can put them in the barn and either leave them there or try to put them back in the pasture on a certain food.

He's bombproof at the moment, and I'm not trying to change his temperament at the moment; I definitely don't have enough experience for that yet! The stallion is currently at 152% energy, yet he's in poor condition; what % should his energy be?Aquila wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 6:46 pm

I'll try putting the filly whose ration I can't change in the barn, then put her back in the pasture on a certain food, as you suggested.
EDIT
I put the filly whose ration I couldn't adjust in the barn and put her out in the pasture again, and now I can adjust her ration. Unfortunately, both fillies are showing red numbers on the quantity and max quantity of their rations. The one filly is on 60% hay, 40% grazing, and only on 100% energy, yet if I reduce the hay ration, she still has red numbers on the quantity and max quantity of her rations, and is down to less than 100% energy. I despair of ever feeding these horses correctly!![]()

Also for Rose Flame her ration amount can go higher so continue to up her amount till right before the numbers go red. Flames ration amount could also go higher but he seems to be getting fatter already so unless you want him very fat I say leave him where he's at. Knight Eagles ration amount could also go higher if you like.Sea Fire wrote: ↑Sat Feb 22, 2025 10:00 pm

Also what are you specifically trying to do in raising their weight? were they at poor body weight? I am also going to go see if I can find the quicklink about feed vs weight vs temperament as it helped me a ton with understanding

Re: No idea how to feed a stabled horse!
heres the quicklink feel free to shoot me any questions you have. I feel like its broken down well but sometimes its knowledge about the game that makes it harder to understand for new people.Aquilla wrote:...

EDIT:
I've given up and moved my stallion into the pasture, because I just couldn't feed him properly in the barn; he became thin again after I'd played a turn or two. Now, he's on grazing and weight-gain mix; my pasture's at 100% right now, but I'll get it go a little while before mowing it.

Re: No idea how to feed a stabled horse!
okay sounds good if you want you can take a look at my horses in the barn and see if one has about the same food quantity ration as your stud. Then get his weight back up and try again if you'd like.Aquilla wrote:...

Re: No idea how to feed a stabled horse!
I took a look at your stallions, and I think I'll try a combination of alfalfa cubes and weight gain mix when I move my stud back to the barn.Sea Fire wrote: ↑Mon Feb 24, 2025 5:09 pmokay sounds good if you want you can take a look at my horses in the barn and see if one has about the same food quantity ration as your stud. Could you look at my colt and fillies and see if they're at the correct stage of speed, stamina, agility etc. for their ages? Thanks in advance!

EDIT:
My stud is back in the barn, on 40% alfalfa cubes and 60% weight gain mix. I've bought a new small pasture, so I can have more flexibility with grazing for my horses. I went through several turns quickly because my small pasture was low quality at first, and I wanted to move my youngstock onto it temporarily because I didn't want them to gain too much weight. Now, the stud is in the barn, and I've mowed the big pasture at least once, probably twice (the big pasture, as of me typing this, is at 65.3% quality, and the small pasture is at 64% quality) and my colt and fillies are in the big pasture.
