Preview Work In progress

Post by Sea Fire »

Where can I add additional advice for the horse view - Preview? I was thinking maybe we could also add the ability to look up which horses were pregnant or not. That would help me a lot not sure if its good advice or most people have no trouble finding their prego mares. As much as I try to be organized they inevitably wind up in all kinds of different places.

There are a few things you can also try.

Making a note in the owner notes of each horse will also show up in the overview of your farm (in the all-horses tab).
I find keeping brood pastures or brood barns is what keeps me straight.
There's also the ability to make hashtags. If you mark some of them as brood, it might make finding those broods quicker, regardless of if they're currently pregnant or not.

All said and done, admin is looking to add in additional changes for us. I think [think I remember] that additional find-me options will be coming to us, for the horses in our farms.

I would suggest in your case, to use the All Horses tab much more heavily than the pasture or barn views. If you can partially remember the names of the horses you have, that will likely be your most useful tool. Plus, as you look over your horses and pull select ones up, you can add owner notes to help remember what they're for and then those notes will appear in that All Horses tab and remind you that way as well.
Don't forget to check it out!

This is kinda old but the maximum of broodmares on an account is 36. A full sized pasture (or barn, but I prefer pastures) will hold 6 pregnant mares. If you dedicate 6 pastures to pregnant mares, it will be easy to check if you actually have your maximum mares pregnant (if not, the pastures won't be full). Moving the foals to their own area as soon as they're born and having separate pastures for unbred mares, pregnant mares, stallions, and mares that I'm aging out is what keeps my account relatively organized!

You could sort the mare pastures/barns by GP as well, but limiting them to 6 makes it easier to keep track of everything
