Local shows

Post by awse! »

Not sure how to word this so sorry for any confusion. What local show, discipline produces the most money? Like I know Harness Racing level 7 produces $127 for 1st place. Is that the earnings across the board for disciplines at level 7?

It's not what local discipline produces the most money, it's what your horse does best in, to maximize your PT and turn drops. :D

The maximum amount you can earn is $176 for a first in level ten in any discipline.

So to answer your question: '...earnings across the board...'
Yes, that'll be the earning across the board.

To help maximize your grinder usage or to help you define body form for discipline usage, this guide should put you on track: What Discipline Is My Grinder Horse?

Anything else? 8-)

Thank you! So does they horse have to be fully or mostly trained to be used in higher levels like 6< or is it like the horse natural level at any trained stage? (If that makes sense)

Some horses can compete successfully (enough) in level 7 of certain disciplines of local shows without any training at all. But we (the community) will always suggest that you get the horse at least partially trained to maximize your earnings. Some horses can even do level 10's with arguably minimal training.

The more trained they become, the narrower your lower end range will be. So... for an untrained horse, you may get wins at level 7, but you'll get A LOT of placements in the sixth and seventh area (sample only). For a halfway trained horse, you'll get more wins at level 7 and probably level 8 and maybe level 9, but at level 7, your placements below fourth may all but disappear.

Think of it this way. An untrained horse has no idea what you want of him in any discipline ('You want me to do what? Cross the finish line? At a full gallop? What's that?). Training a horse makes them understand more what you want (You want me to do what? Cross the finish line? What finish line? That one? Is that what it is? And you want me to go at a full gallop? I think... MAYBE I can do that...). Full training makes the horse understand what you want (Full gallop? Check... As fast as I can? Check...).
