Competition help

Post by Tori Johnson »

Why can't I enter my horse(s) in certain competitions, even if they're the correct breed, age, etc. I click enter my horse but they don't pop up. They aren't already entered either.

There are a number of reasons this might happen. Sometimes if you look at your horse's profile, there in the General Information tab, there is a 'Find Upcoming Competitions' button that'll take you to competitions that your horse should automatically be eligible for.

Things that may disqualify your horse: max turn limit (your horse can only enter a maximum of 10 comps every turn); height (at least in-hand has a height limit the horse must be); age (I think it's 20 years that the horse is no longer eligible for hosted competitions, but local shows are still good); PPS (the Points-Per-Start will limit your horse to certain levels); and training (the actual amount of training will also limit your horse to certain levels).
I think that's all of them.

If you think you have a horse that should be able to enter a specific competition, link the horse and the competition and the community will take an initial look for eligibility. If we can see no reason your horse shouldn't be able to enter, admin will then look into it further. That's the usual way these things go. 8-)

It may be the points. I was able to enter in this comp yesterday, just not today.

You can always check what level your horse is eligible for by entering it into the local event of your choice. The report will tell you the minimum level your horse is able to enter.

Yes, that would be the points. Your horse is already a level 4 comp horse in racing. You can see on the results page (general information) that racing is at level 4 and sprints is still at level 1.
