Metallic?

Post by AlohaStreet »

AS || Sympathetic Loss

Can anyone confirm if this horse is metallic? He's had some training, but always looked shinier than my other colts.
If so, are either of his parents metallic? I am confused as to where it could have come from. :?

I also am suspicious that this one may be, as well. No training yet quite shiny?

No metallic that I can see. Just bright from roan.

The best place to look for shine not related to training is in the highlights on the face.

So then follow up question if I may..

I also have this one,

Same coat, black roan tobiano. Both at 0 training, very closely related, similar ages. How it it that Snowy is so much more defined and shiny?

It's not shine. It's just a difference in their shade. You'll notice that the second one is also much more red than the first while the first is more blue.

The second also has more intense roan, which washes out any highlights they might have. The first has less intense roaning, so the highlights are more apparent, and has a huge white spot on his front which emphasizes the contrast between dark and light on the hindquarters.

No problem! There are a lot of little intricacies in HWO that aren't apparent at first glance. Even us long-time players are always learning. :)
