Surprising looks

I love the genetics in this game, especially when complete surprises are thrown. I want to see what sort of things you absolutely weren't expecting to suddenly show up in your lines. Please show me!

Two examples inspired me to post this thread:


Stinging Sing

The sooty on this girl was instant and intense (without any forest horse in her heritage)!! Nobody else in her line has anything even remotely like this. I can see where she got this particular pattern of sooty, and there are a couple dark-ish sooty examples on the other side of her family tree, but I still didn't expect something like this to show up. It came out of nowhere and I love it. I'm really hoping she passes it on to her offspring. ♥


Fancy Doubts

I posted her elsewhere, but I'm still fascinated, so here she is again. There's plenty of chestnut, pangare, and dun in her entire line... but no one has come close to looking this pink! Especially when she was younger, she was a cute little pastel blip in my otherwise normal-looking pasture. I'm really hoping she passes on her colors, even though it doesn't work for my breeding project.
