Pangare on Pseudo-Pink confusion
I'm no expert in Pangare/Mealy by far, however is this some kind of complete expression of Pangare? It almost seems to surpass even what I've been able to find is considered full body if thats the case. Both her parents have very similar foal coats (Chestnuts) but ended up extremely different from one another. I have no idea if this is just another quirk with pseudo-pink horses or not. I'm completely lost considering all my previous pink foals have had some kind of color on the top half of their body

A bit flaxen (fairly certain it's here), a bit pangare, no signs of dun (but at this point, it could certainly be cryptic)... and if you take a look at her sire's yearling picture, you'll see a steady, all-over flush to the body. There is a darker or less-flushing on the foals upper half, it's just not very evident. If you look at the lower legs, there is a difference between that color and her back.
Be quite interesting to see her when she blows.

Well she's kept the creamy/tan color but definitely doesn't have the green tint that her Sire shows. It does look like she has flaxen but it seems like her legs do have a darker tone to them above the flaxen?BlackOak2 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 2:42 pm The can certainly get this bright.

Re: Pangare on Pseudo-Pink confusion
I agree, there is something different going on with her legs. It looks a bit like the markings of bay, but in this case, I think it's combinations of pangare, cryptic dun and flaxen on chestnut (after all, your line appears to be chestnut for awhile). If you right-click on her (not her gallery images) and click, open image in a new tab, you'll have a high quality image you can zoom in on. The interesting part about this, is that if you look at her back, you can just make out some barring along her spine... the barest hints of 'maybe something's actually there'. Neither of her parents have the barring, so it's interesting to see.Shadow Scar wrote: ↑Thu Jul 11, 2024 11:43 pmWell she's kept the creamy/tan color but definitely doesn't have the green tint that her Sire shows. I hadn't even noticed that at all.BlackOak2 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 12, 2024 3:34 pm I agree, there is something different going on with her legs. Anyways, thanks so much for the help! Seems like just when I think I've figured out what's in my herd out pops a mystery baby.

Re: Pangare on Pseudo-Pink confusion
Happens to all of us at some point.
Genetics certainly may clear up some things, but leave us in the dark on others. Either way, it'll be fun to investigate these things just like all of our releases.
