Tail spot on Tarpan?
Okay, I'm posting this because I've literally never seen this on an AC Tarpan before. Does this guy have a white tail spot, or is this some kind of glitch?

I didn't think Tarpan carried whatever genes are needed for any spots other than blazes and socks. Has anyone else seen this before? Have I just missed it before now?
I've just... I've encountered so very many AC Tarpans before and I don't think I've ever seen this.

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
This is very likely a glitch. I'm currently trying to investigate whats causing this but it seems to be cache/renderer storage server related.

Ah! Okay, phew. Glad to know it wasn't just me not knowing a breed as well as I thought I did.

Is this one of those things that will probably be cleared up one way or another when he hits 10 years old, like I've heard other glitches do?

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
Yes he should be all fixed up by 10 years old

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?

Well! ...He definitely changed drastically on his tenth birthday, but the tail spot is still there!

So, does that mean this is a legit marking? I didn't think AC tarpans had the genes needed for a white tail spot to show up. I haven't seen anything like it yet, at any rate. Should I put him up for stud in case anyone wants to play with it? Haha...

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
Likely directly related to the Lp he has. Lp will color the tail white (and the mane) when those areas are directly connected to the Lp on the body.stickers wrote: ↑Tue Jun 25, 2024 9:42 pm

What we can take from this is that one: mane and tail may still indicate the true color of the horse, if this glitch still continues to some extent; and two: that our horses will still return to true form by or before 10 years.
He's a pretty tarpan.

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
Thinking that his tail spot was a glitch, I haven't bred him at all, and now I'm regretting it. Would love to see how his tail is or isn't inherited.
It's just wild, because it really does look like a spot, and not just his tail becoming pale. It's especially obvious in his younger pictures, watching how his mane and tail get paler around it, while it remains unchanged.
Has anyone else seen something like this from an AC tarpan before??

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
As BlackOak said, the tail spot is because of his Lp gene. It's not a glitch. His body was the glitch. The renderer did not reload his body image correctly when he refreshed in the AC. Whether or not his offspring would inherit that particular expression of Lp would entirely depend upon which PATN genes they received from both the horse in question and their other parent.stickers wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 5:45 pm Thinking that his tail spot was a glitch, I haven't bred him at all, and now I'm regretting it. Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
I think the things that are throwing me is that it didn't look to me like his blanket went over the base of his tail, so I'd been wondering if it'd been from some other white marking, but I'd never seen a tarpan with anything other than socks and blazes.Pearl II wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 11:48 pm As BlackOak said, the tail spot is because of his Lp gene. ...And then I'd also misread BlackOak and thought they were talking about mane/tail lightening from Lp varnish. That's my bad.
So then if I'm understanding right, is this a case of the tail having a white spot from being attached to a white blanket, even though it doesn't look like the blanket is attached to it in the graphic?
(I hope that question makes sense. words are hard.

Re: Tail spot on Tarpan?
It's not attached to his blanket. He just happens to have a separate white spot on his tail.stickers wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2024 1:19 am

And you can see it a bit on this mini:

Though you're more likely to see the disconnect with tobiano horses:
