Pink Leopard Filly?

Hi! I have a question...
I've just popped this little gal and her coat seems to be showing up as pink...

does anyone know if this will fade as she gets older or stay the same?
I love the pink so I hope it stays, but her parents are not pink so I have no idea where that colour gene came from

She'll still be light, but not a pink like some of the others. That said, the Lp will change her coat further. She may actually get a gray-ish coloration from the Lp. I don't see that in her heredity, but that's still a possibility, dependent on the genes she inherited.
I can't really see any dun or pangare on either parent, if that's the case, the pink birth was due entirely to the baby pangare. The poor news is that this pair are highly unlikely to produce a pink offspring, however, the good news is that when I did my pangare study, I found that baby pangare does appear to be linked to the genes that the horse does carry, so that strong baby pangare expression is the type you'll want for pinkies. You'll want to breed the foal to a horse with strong dun or strong dun and pangare expressions and there's a fair change of producing pinkies thereafter. The same could theoretically be said about at least the sire. He's a double pearl, so likely all of his babies will be pearl carriers unless you pair him with a cream or another double or single pearl. Point is, there's a chance he has a similar baby pangare to his foal, so there's a thin chance that he might produce pinkies as well.

Oooh that's exciting! I'll definitely try that out. The filly was quite pink when she was born, but now it's darkened out however, looking forward to experimenting with pink horses lol

So glad I read this post Had this girl pop up and I was so confused when instead of turning into a tan/pink color she went straight to grey by a year old. I'm assuming this is probably some kind of extreme expression and even if I replicate it none of the offspring would be darker?

They could get darker. She seems to've inherited mostly from her dam. If you look at Ash Pink Mare's (mother) lower legs, those would be those same genes at work there. This grayish is most likely from the sooty gene and not Lp. It also appears that both of these parents have low-change Lp expression. Meaning, they won't lose much of their primary coloring, even as they age.

So, in your case, sooty appears to be the culprit there. Might be fun to mess around with, pairing this filly with other variations of sooty to see if you can carry over or produce full-body-sooty in different phases.

Quite a looker! I'd probably end up calling her a pseudo-gray. Very, very nice!

Yeah I'm definitely going to be experimenting with her I've had a few not full siblings pop up so I'll probably try and see about playing with the "grey" color before breeding out to nonrelated horses. Thanks for the help!
