Nope, just get any cheap foal from the market and post him for 10k.

I also leased mares from another player. It could be very successful business: lease your mares to breed needed foals.

I got one pair - the colt and the filly, Half Hackneys. I could wait for Chelsea's foals and after that raise all of them and breed to at least 60-70%.
And I also have 24 Holstein x Arabian or Arabian x Holstein foals. Gonna raise small herd of fillies and no colts. I need the purest blood I can get -> breed them with their father once more.

It should be used with caution. There's nothing bad in high COI, if you include good horses only.
Oh, I might get Half Holstein even faster and better. Grade mares
