Jorlana's Appies

Post by Jorlana »

I've decided my main goal will be Appaloosas.

Here's the only slightly ridiculous breed tree: http://familyecho.com/?p=START&c=4u97jn ... 3997229661

Pearl because he's shiny? I still can't figure out what color his sire is either but I'm guessing it must be pearl something because his mother is a flat bay: http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2665

If his sire and dam both have one pearl gene and no cream or champagne, it would not show up in their coats. If they both passed on their pearl gene then you'd have a bay pearl. I think Argent is going with pearl based on the general buckskin-like look, but with diluted legs. A single cream gene has no effect on black hair, so it wouldn't dilute your Andalusian's legs.

He's pearl because he's diluted and definitely neither cream nor champagne.

The stallion you linked, Obsidian Sky, is Brown Dun, carrying Pearl. Brown Sugar is Brown Dun. Beer is Bay Dun. Finale is Brown Double Pearl... Yay colors.

Moving along now! Here's my first Mustang: http://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/pasture/154

The other side of the tree is going slowly because I can't seem to produce anything but male Friesians and Exmoors. Anyone have a filly of either of those that they want to get rid of or a Galloway of either sex? :)
