Need some help with pricing
Hi all, I'm in need of some help choosing an appropriate price for mares from my show jumping line. Here are some examples - Black Water, The Stranger. My go-to is usually 250k per mare with some variance depending on competitive ability, but I'll admit I haven't actually looked into the market for them all that much.

Could I purchase both for 500k?Eugene wrote:Hi all, I'm in need of some help choosing an appropriate price for mares from my show jumping line. Here are some examples - Black Water, The Stranger. Sure. I'll take that as a yes vote for 250k per mare thenMSH Competing wrote:Could I purchase both for 500k?Eugene wrote:Hi all, I'm in need of some help choosing an appropriate price for mares from my show jumping line. Maybe one of our active members can weigh in.
Personally, I think that is minimal for a confirmed competition line, plus these are from your study, right?

You have a few minutes to give your opinion on this line?Gabby_Woodlark wrote:...

Re: Need some help with pricing
From what I have seen in your line, I have come to a couple of conclusions.Eugene wrote:Hi all, I'm in need of some help choosing an appropriate price for mares from my show jumping line. First of all, all of them have pretty good times (Nearing world-breakers). Second, even though the win percentage isn't always the highest, the range they have going is still worth a lot, with on average more first-placings than seconds and thirds. I've seen them a lot in the newsletters and they do great in showjumping. Yes, the ones you do sell are the ones that don't compete as well as you need them to, and you simply can't use them, but other players may be starting out a similar project so they don't have their expectations as high as you would. To them, the horses you sell are gold mines.
The horses could also produce good foals that could even surpass your best. I know .⚝. Year of the Cat is very popular in his winnings throughout the Showjumping levels. Hey, GCh. .⚝. Black Water did do better than your Year of the Cat's mom, which can well mean that with the right pairing, champions are born.
Now you're probably getting bored and wondering where in the world I'll actually talk about the prices. I'm getting there, just you wait.
Along with the giveaway Howl is doing, which is mostly getting viewed by newer players, users can now afford to spend more money on things they couldn't before.
I have seen some awesome horses (With the same potential, if not less, as yours) being put up on the market for even 1mil, and they get snagged quickly.
Which comes down to this.
If you put all of the market interests, the amount of money people now have, the possibility of the sold horses breeding world breakers, and the overall interest in good horses, I'd say yours could go for 1mil or more. Then, if the market shifts yet again and they don't sell, try around 500k. I know I'm tempted to buy some of yours but just can't because of all the grinders I'm hoarding (I need to work on that ^^').
Let me know if I missed anything, because the market shifts often so a horse can go for 80mil one day and then not even 10k the next.

Alright, thank you! I feel somewhat chastised now :)Gabby_Woodlark wrote:From what I have seen in your line, I have come to a couple of conclusions.Eugene wrote:Hi all, I'm in need of some help choosing an appropriate price for mares from my show jumping line. Re: Need some help with pricing
If you meant chastise as in the verb as to which one would rebuke another, please don't feel that way ^^' I didn't mean for it to come across like that, I was just trying to find the right price for your wonderful horses and I explained whyEugene wrote:Alright, thank you!
