price range and trending sales or colors

Post by kkhorsegirl »

this may have been suggested or it may be useless but maybe you could add price range or more info on the breeds on the breeds guides because some horse breeds may be a different price range than others and we may not know the price range of the breed we are selling. For example i have started to breed some Choctaw Indian Horses and don't know how much to sell them for. another suggestion would be to make it where we can see horses or ponies that are trending in the market and to see what colors are trending or most wanted at the market.

I usually sell my Arabians for anywhere between $3000-$10000. It's probably pretty cheap considering they all have high HGPs, but that's what works for me :)

Seeing trending sales might be handy. But the market is quite liquid. So much so, that a horse one day may sell for a million and the very next, not be interesting enough to pick up even for $1.
Rarer horses tend to be a bit more than non-rare horses. Rare horses are any breed under 500 or 200 or 100 population. The rarer, generally the more expensive. However... rare also means less interest.
Some ways to increase interest in the horse is to breed it with better stats or also make it into a competition line. Competition lines are always valuable, no matter the breed. So rare + competition = hundreds of thousands. ;)
One other way to boost price levels immediately, is to breed up your line to minimal grinder status. A grinder-prospect with no training and no grinder-lineage can still pull 10k a pop. Being a rare breed that'll be more (depending on the breed and interest). A confirmed grinder-lineage can start at 50k with no training or more. Again, rarity will increase base price. Choctaws are an end breed (nothing is made from them) so interest will remain limited. But it's a good project.
I'd suggest aiming first for grinder status (that would be just the stats) and then move onward to competition status.
