Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
That shows how well they fit the given breeds' standards, which would indeed tell how well they'd do in making said breeds. You can get books under the Market tab in the Book Store; the books are breed evaluations. You use these on a horse's page under the Eval tab. It can be found to the left of the conformation tab and to the right of the gallery. They test how well a horse scores for the standard of whatever breed you test them for.Coda wrote:May i ask how you figure out this for the horses
4* = North Swedish Trotter
3* = North Swedish Horse
N/A = Latvian Harness Horse, Sokolsky, Swedish Ardennais
Does this mean that they cant breed another breed or something along the line?
In this case, I tested them for all the possible breeds that they can make. the North Swedish Horse eval doesn't really matter; as long as they're bred to another North Swedish Horse, they'll always make a North Swedish Horse. They'll have a decently good chance at making North Swedish Trotters, but aren't the best fit for Latvian Harness Horses, Sokolskys, and Swedish Ardennais.
The scale goes: 5* (best), 4*, 3*, 2*, N/A (worst). That's not to say that you can never get the breed you're trying to make from an N/A scoring horse, it just has a much lower probability of happening. If you can pair them with a really high scoring 4*-5* horse, then there's a chance you can get any of the N/A breeds. They could still make Lats, we'll just have to really perfect the Doles that we pair them to in order to balance out their evaluations.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
New update: we finally have a colt.
Our boy is a Bay Blanket, 56,735 HGP. We've got both pattern and a decent HGP on this one! I'll work on aging him up since I'm currently playing.
I'm going to keep using my current recipe horses unless we want to move on, in which case I can pass them over to whomever I'm supposed to. Most of them are very close to retiring so I can always just let them age out if needed and pass on the well evaluating horses to an active Dole breeder in the game.
If we want to make more of these guys then I can keep going for as long as current stock lasts and get started on making an entirely new stock from a new bloodline? I've decided I want to make another Heavy/Pony Type Arabian that's not related to my current ones, so that's going to be an option eventually.
Anyway, that's that bit of good news. Also, our darling Cremello lady is nearly mature so I'm going to put her up for offers. She's currently our best Lat eval so she's definitely one to breed carefully.
I'm ready to work on evals whenever we have enough Doles to pass around, else I can use some coverings from the colt we just got once he's mature. I'll be crossbreeding to get the right build and slowly re-breeding to Doles until the resulting foals are pure again. I'll probably do that for both Lats and North Swedish since we didn't get great evals for either breed, I don't think.

Alrighty, sorry I haven't been doing much, my WiFi has decided to blackout so right now I'm at a McDonald's getting free WiFi -_-
Doing as much as I currently can without taking turns, so we'll see where that leads me \_0_/

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
That's alright! If you're looking for something to do then I'd appreciate help with finding some decent Shetland studs to either buy or use; I'm looking for high HGP over color.

Thank you for understanding, I posted a post about it if you'd like more infoEclipticEnd wrote:That's alright! If you're looking for something to do then I'd appreciate help with finding some decent Shetland studs to either buy or use; I'm looking for high HGP over color.

Can't find any above 38k HGP, but I'll keep an eye out

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
I feel like I haven't been doing much for this community. All I have been doing has just been being excited about y'all's achievements, and just breeding our Doles into second generations of dudes. I feel lazy, to say the least.
If there's anything, anything at all that I can do that'll make y'all feel like I'm actually working hard, please let me know. I can take over recipe horses, purebreds, I can age out/up, I can help with finances, anything. (I just won't do your homework for you, I have enough already D:)

Since you are a Treasurer beside me, I have set up an official Finances section under the Leader tier. I have donated 2 million to it. If you would like to donate some, let me know and I will update the amountEclipticEnd wrote:Treasurer

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Yeah I can donate some more to that. Go ahead and add another 3M to it; I know it takes over 1M to buy all of the breed books so if we end up with someone else wanting to be an evaluator then extra funds are good.Gabby_Woodlark wrote:Since you are a Treasurer beside me, I have set up an official Finances section under the Leader tier. My breeding stock for Doles is beginning to age out. If you want then I can pass some of the recipe horse your way? All of the mares are either over 20 or else around 4-15 from my second batch of horses. I can pass over all of the studs and the two younger mares and let the older ones age out unless we want to try to get some last foals from them? I think it's worth saving the studs at least in case we need to make more Doles later. I'm a bit disappointed; the 4* Forest x Arabian still hasn't made a Dole despite being matched with my 4* TB x Friesians. This must be one of those breeds where you can't use good evals because they'll match terribly.
If you want something else to do, we can probably edit this to display the next breed since we do have fillies and a colt; I'm guessing North Swedish Horses since that's the other half for Lats. That'd be Forest Horse x Dole Gudbrandsdal. Since we have a colt that's slowly aging up we'd just need some decently evaluating Forest mares, so if you see any that're decent then that'd be great. We can breed to higher HGP Forests if the HGP's weak or if the market stock's limited to only a few mares. Might be worth putting an ISO ad out; I know there's at least one Forest breeder out there and if the price is right some other players might breed some as well.
I intend to work on getting some Doles that eval well for Lats and Norths; I'll probably be wanting coverings from our Dole colt for this once he's mature. I'll be doing crossbreeding, but I'm pretty sure I can get decently close to the target eval.
It might be worth double checking who all's active in this community just they know what they can be doing as well; collectors could be getting Forest Horses and be keeping an eye out for North Swedish and Dole G.s, for instance. We can double check on the Specific Breeders and what they're up to as well to see if there's a breed relating to their projects that we could be getting horses for. It could also be worth doing some sort of contest or giveaway to raise awareness for this community to bolster our numbers; I'd be willing to supply prize money and horses for that.
