Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Like for each breed what are they guys looking for in breeds and what should i be breeding for?Gabby_Woodlark wrote:We haven't stumbled across any colts yet, we are stuck in a filly pandemic xDCoda wrote: Yeah i got given an older mare and found a stallion with energy thats how i got her now i would like to bred her but can find a stallion with energy and i dont want to breed her to her half brother.
Sure thats okay i may also need another stallion as i just check and the two im getting are related by sire, is it okay if i ask what are the breeding lines around these horses
What do you mean by that? I'm sorry, I don't quite understand

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
In the first page, underneath the main post is a post stating what we should be working on. We are currently worming on the Dole. Once we improve lines and eval, we'll do the North Swedish Horse. Then the Latvian and so on and so forth. Does that answer your question?Coda wrote:Like for each breed what are they guys looking for in breeds and what should i be breeding for?Gabby_Woodlark wrote: We haven't stumbled across any colts yet, we are stuck in a filly pandemic xD

i can freeze my North Swedish's if you like i have a couple mare and a stallion but sadly they are related but the stallion could be useful

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
It's completely fine, you would only be more confused if you didn't ask a questionCoda wrote:Yes it does sorry for being confusingGabby_Woodlark wrote: In the first page, underneath the main post is a post stating what we should be working on. I think that would be the best call for now. Who knows? They might prove to be extremely useful in the future xD

If you want to make some money off of him, keep him up.
If you want to preserve his energy, take him down.
Also, we aren't generally concerned about lineage right now so nobody would care if you bred the pair together

4* = Dole Trotter
N/A = Latvian Harness Horse, North Swedish Horse
Also evals for those two North Swedish Horses:
Rosewood Lemon Buzz
3* = North Swedish Trotter, Sokolsky
2* = North Swedish Horse, Swedish Ardennais
N/A = Latvian Harness Horse
Rosewood Ordinary Poppy
4* = North Swedish Trotter
3* = North Swedish Horse
N/A = Latvian Harness Horse, Sokolsky, Swedish Ardennais
Once we have a steady breeding pair I'd like to request a few Dole Mares to make some better fitting foals for Lats and Norths. I kind of figure I'll keep breeding until my current mares retire at which point I'll pass on the recipe studs to someone who wants them. Hopefully we'll have a few colts at that point. If not then I might work back from scratch to develop an unrelated Arabian of good standards for the breed, get new Friesians, TBs, and Forest Horses, and make an entirely unrelated batch of horses to this group.

May i ask how you figure out this for the horsesEclipticEnd wrote:Evals:Gabby_Woodlark wrote:We had our second-generation beauty born :0

Does this mean that they cant breed another breed or something along the line?

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Those are the breed evaluations. The said horse rates 4 for the North Swedish Trotter, and 3 for the North Swedish Horse. The other evaluations that we would possibly use, rated on the horse come out as N/A (0)Coda wrote: May i ask how you figure out this for the horses
