Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Just an update on my progress again!
I have a breeding pair going. One's the 4* Friesian x TB colt that I linked last time, and the other's a 2* Forest Horse x Arabian mare that I'm hoping might end up balancing well enough to get a foal from. Normally I'd go for a better eval but I'm limited by the age of my stock so until another Forest x Arab that's better grows up they'll have to do. Alternatively if a colt grows up I might be able to breed a better one, so that's something I'm watching for.
Edit: I've got another mare going as well now! And a colt has grown up so after she foals I'll see if it's worth making a better Forest x Arab out of them.
They've had one foal so far that was rehomed; it was a Grade Horse. The eval was N/A, but some parts were only barely out of the given ranges so it's possible that these two might eventually work out.
Will update again when anything interesting happens.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
And big update!
We've got one!
Here's the little lady. Since she was bred via recipe horses she'll automatically be a 5* for her breed.
I've checked and she's 2* for both Latvian Harness and North Swedish, but that's alright. If we can get a few more then I can do some breeding to make a group that'll fit.
I'm gonna pause operations until I know what we want to do with her for now. I can certainly age her up if that's what we want at the moment? Else I suggest passing her off to a collector that's active or one of the leaders.
I won't be rehoming any Doles that we end up making in case some score better for whatever the list of breeds they make is. I suppose I'll have to look into that as the only Evaluator. Regardless, I'm pretty happy with this; it's the first foal born to this mare so that tells me she could be a great recipe horse for this breed. This has certainly been a lot easier than some other breeds that I've made!

I can take her to age her up, as amithril has a stud available. I think we are going to first make the Doles better for Latvian.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
This community's gotten rather quiet, so have some more updates from me to keep us rollin'.
I'm still working on Doles; the filly may have been a presentation of luck as all I've had since would be Grade Horse after Grade Horse. That's alright, though; some of those Grades fit right in to my Grade Horse project, and if anyone else has need for any Grades let me know. This is a pretty steady producer of them.
All of my Forest x Arabian and TB x Friesian foals have reached breeding age and have either been kept or rehomed based on their stats. I'm considering using what I have to make better recipe horses along with any public studs of the right mixes.
I ended up with two 4* Friesian x Thoroughbred colts which is good. They're pretty similar in eval, so it really just means that I don't have to age them up as often for energy. I believe the issue with both is that they're too tall for the Dole evaluation. I could try to make a 5*, but I don't see the need for it right now since height's really simple to correct. Maybe later?
I didn't really end up with any good Forest x Arabians, so that might be my goal now. I have a 2* colt and an N/A colt, and my mares are 2* at best. Ideally I'd like to make some well-fitting mares to pair with the colts, maybe 4* ones that're too short to counterbalance the colts' height?
Currently I have 11 broods that're going towards making Doles. That number'll go down depending on how many Forest crosses I but towards making a 4*, but it is what it is. I'll look into it. I don't want to make more Forest x Arabians from scratch so I'll be using what I've got and what's available to me.
Hope things are going well for everyone else! If anyone needs help with anything, let me know; I'm acting as Treasurer for now so if funds are an issue then they won't be if you ask. I'm also more than happy to help out my fellow breeders, regardless of what you're breeding.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Thank you, EclipticEnd, for your update
I do also hope it will help things get rolling again.
I currently am working on aging up the Dole girl so I can breed her to a stud on the market.
I'm also side working on Sanhes, as I came across them and they are rare. I currently have Parts and Halves which are in breeding with the original purebred Sanhe stud I snagged.
South German Horses are also something I came across with a stud. I have a Grade mare bred to him and am waiting for the results.
So far, all of the offspring have been decently good and have been proven to raise HGP and, unfortunately, COI.
I have been working, don't worry, just silently. As one of your leaders, I am willing to help with any of the roles. I am currently acting as a Breeder, soon-to-be Extra Breeder, Specific Breeder, Treasuer, and Leader. If you need any help with anything related to those roles, don't be afraid to ask any leader or member of the role. We are a helping community.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
Another good update!
I now have a 4* Arabian x Forest Horse filly. She's tall and the other half of the equation are as well, but it might work out? I'll be redirecting the crosses back towards making Doles now and if nothing else I can breed her to other crosses to try to fix the height issue.
Progress should speed up now on my end of things. Hopefully. You never know with breeding.
Edit: I also got a similar colt. It's a shame they'll both be too tall, but maybe I can use him to make a 5* recipe horse while using the filly towards Dole breeding straight away.

Re: The Rare Breed Repopulation Community
I heard you were looking for Doles so you could start a breeding project for them? This community I'm associated with is currently working on the breed. We have a filly and soon an available stud (Needs to be refreshed yet again xD).Coda wrote:Heyo
If you would like, once we get a steady herd of these dudes, we can sell you a few (Or you can join the group and help out ^^)
