Thank you so much! I'll take both of the mares, how much are you wanting for them both?

So I've also noticed that there aren't very many Gypsies for sale, I really want to prevent inbreeding as much as possible. Do you have any ideas on how I can do that?rosie0922 Holding2 wrote:You can offer $1 for each. They are a gift. Just please return them if they don't work out for you.minisrock wrote:

You aren't going to have too many worries if you're crossing back to AC Shetlands because they have 0% COI.minisrock wrote:So I've also noticed that there aren't very many Gypsies for sale, I really want to prevent inbreeding as much as possible. Now I'm not sure about that, because I might just be crossing Gypsy mares with Gypsy stallions. I'll probably just keep using the offspring of each pair of parents so as not to cross lines, unless there's a better solution?rosie0922 wrote:You aren't going to have too many worries if you're crossing back to AC Shetlands because they have 0% COI.minisrock wrote:

And I can put a stud up?

Re: Looking for some purebred Gypsy Vanner mares!
Sure that would be great if you would sell me another mare! And yeah if you want to put a stud up that's awesome too! I really appreciate all your help!rosie0922 wrote:Would you like another mare?minisrock wrote:

I breed gypsy Vanners and am currently going through them all to get some up for sale. While I’m going through them I’ll send over some links for some that I think may fit your program that I’m willing to sell. If you want to take a look at my farm and see any mares or stallions you want to breed to I can put some stallions up for stud or breed a mare to one of your stallions and sell you the foal.minisrock wrote:Hi everyone! I'm on the hunt for some Gypsy Vanner mares. I'm starting a project where I breed a Gypsy mare to a Shetland stallion to make a mini Gypsy. The tallest mare would be preferably not over 15hh. I don't have a huge budget, probably about $5,000 each as I'm looking to buy a few. Thanks everyone!
Edit: I’ve got these 3 that I’m willing to sell once their foals are born if you’re interested in any of them. They do have rather high COI’s but all current gypsy Vanners in the game do unfortunately.

Re: Looking for some purebred Gypsy Vanner mares!
I have a master grand champion gypsy vanner. I was hoping to get some good money out of her. She is in my barn and has done very well in mostly reining but other events as well. Please let me know if you are interested in her and how much you are willing to pay. Thank you!!!!

Re: Looking for some purebred Gypsy Vanner mares!
You may or may not find cheap ones in the market and idk if they meet the right height or notminisrock wrote:Thanks so much for that! I'll try that as well!FantasyRanch3 wrote:
I don't have any but a good way to start breeding mini of any breed is breeding the shortest to the shortest. So one stallion is 15hh and a mare is say 14hh and another is 16hh, breeding the stallion to the 14hh one gives a better chance of getting one that's 13hh then the 16hh mare would. A good way to see how tall a foal will be at mature age is the eval, they will tell how tall he should be from how tall they are at birth, thay way you don't have to keeo them all till they're older to see if they're to tall.
So for the rambling but I thought I may help!
