Post by Pendragon Stables »

Never seen this color before except her father but im not sure if his color is correct. This filly is still young but she is gorgeous and is one of my favorites and want her color to be accurate

I'm not awesome with coat colours but she seems to be some kind of blue roan / roan. Maybe some kind of grey roan. I would say probably a light blue roan / grey roan for now but someone more experienced with this would probably be better. Just for an idea :) She is beautiful, best of luck with her!

Silver dappled roan (or silver dappled blue roan). Black with silver & roan (plus tiger and To). Sire appears to be a smoky silver dapple roan... but his newborn image is missing. And it doesn't appear he's thrown that potential cream gene to any of his creamed offspring... so I'm not sure.

On roaned horse's like these, the dapples don't come through well at all, so it's debatable whether the dapples are there or not, silver paired with black can produce horses without any dapples present. :D

She honestly kind of does, we'll see more when she's a little older. She really is beautiful though. She looks to be some kind of blue roan (because I don't know for sure if grey roan exists lol). Mom was tobiano and her dad was completely silver. Hard to tell but she's beautiful! :)

Yeah
:)
If she's a Gray horse, then as a newborn, she would've already had an adult coat. Then at 6 months (give or take) she would've gotten her 'gray-goggles'.

Here is a regular newborn bay:

And here is a graying newborn bay:

Here are the same horses as yearlings:

Do you see those gray goggles? They start to manifest as early as 4 months but usually start to come in about 6 months.

So, no gray genes on your horse. ;)
