I have another colt that I need help with!
I should just stop buying horses but I jsut can't figure this one out. I looked at a few posts and concluded his current colour as Blanketed Birdcatcher Palomino, but I don't think it's right. You can ask for more questions and I am going to brush up on my coat genes skills

A palomino is chestnut based, and chestnuts do not have black legs (or black ear tips, which is noticable even on horses with socks). This is an bay-based horse, and the reason he has white mane and tail is silver.
Cream is correct though (red pigment on body diluted to gold).
So Silver Buckskin so far.
Then we come to the blanket and spots. The spots and blanket are both due to leopard complex / appaloosa pattern.
I think that this particular combination is usually called blanket with spots?
Birdcatcher spots usually refer to non-appaloosa-patterned horses, as small white specks are sort of part of the appaloosa pattern.

The spots are called snowflakes and are part of the Lp patterning. We do not yet have birdcatcher spots in-game. This horse's pattern would either be called a blanket with snowflakes, or simply a blanket. It also has already started to varnish and will continue to do so with age.Arctictea wrote:

Thank you both!
