Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Re: The Competitive Breeders Association
Ah.
Haha. I was wondering why I was pinged. If I happen to be a featured member/own a featured horse of the week again in the future I may not take a prize (because I do not need it.) but I will this time since the weekly updates are a new thing and should be done the right way in order for other members to take note. Sleek Moose awaits pickup.
As for the question of the week. I may as well answer while I am here and do not forget about it.
I do not breed a specific breed. I have a few projects, each of scattered breeds. However, the general idea of all of my projects is the same; anybody who might talk with me often may know.
I do rare breed revisions.
A few of my projects would be my English-bred Württemburgers, my not-pseudo-pseudos, or my heavy American Saddlebreds for the logging and driving focuses. TMI~ I am currently working on breeding the h-ASBs back to pure, and I just recently started a project I have had in mind for probably over a year: Steeplechasing St. Lawrences.
Why do I do projects like this...
I am among the small sub-community of players who enjoy envisioning an uncommon or unused breed as something totally new; and then, instead of a small idea, I begin to make the dream and eventually begin the project. It is something that I, personally, get a lot of satisfaction out of. Along with, well, patience skills and maddening moments along the way. That is why I never caught onto the trends that go on in this community or breeding a normalized breed, like the Thoroughbred. I enjoy doing my own thing. With that said, of course, do your own project; yours may be to take on Thoroughbreds. It does not matter as long as you like it.

Re: The Competitive Breeders Association

I mainly breed Arabians (I know, basic, but tbh, I don't have the time to try for another breed). However, I do mix in other breeds. I breed more for stats than breed. If I find a horse for sale/stud that has really good stats, then I will typically breed with it, no matter the breed. My goal is to improve the stats of my lines to the best of my ability, then breed out the other breeds as much as possible. It may seem messy, but in my mind, it's very simple. But yeah, that's the long, complicated answer to a simple question...

Re: The Competitive Breeders Association
I finally made the question of the week!
Those who know me know I have lots of projects. But I have two I stick to the closest. My Arabians and my Lipizzans.
For the sake of the story I'll talk about both.
When I joined the game I knew I wanted to breed Arabs because for as long as I can remember I have been raising Arabians in the real world. My first pony was a Shetland x Polish Arabian mare named Baptiste or Tizzy for short. My first show was when I was a mere 1 year old on the back of my mother's champion Arabian mare, Gisselle. The Egyptian Arabian runs deep in my family, closely followed by my father's beloved QH cutting horses. That being said, as much as I love the Quarter Horse my heart always stands with one foot in world of the Arabian and one foot deeply rooted in the realm of the rodeo queen. So I built my Reining and Cutting ranch horse versatility arabs from the ground up irl. Now I continued it online for the times when I'm stuck in bed from chronic illness and have to pass the horse training to my sister and husband.
Now what about my Lipizzans? That love comes from a small sickly 24 year old mare I found in a feedlot in Texas. I bought her sight unseen, pregnant and near death what I thought was a polish Arabian mare in need of a place to land before her passing. Instead I received a surprise when a heavily pregnant branded lipizzan mare stepped off my stock trailer. Her name was Zena, she was 24, foundered and lame but she lived for 3 more years. Long enough to give me her filly, Bonita who just foaled her first half Lipizzan x Frisian sporthorse colt two months ago, at 5 years of age. Zena was barely sound when she arrived but she lived three years able to canter around green pastures until she passed at 27 in my pasture surrounded by Bonita, Scooter (My dad's 36 year old QH stallion) and Cripplecreek my childhood Quarab, barrel horse who made me a rodeo queen.
For fun here are some of both breeds that I've bred that are my up and coming prospects:
I owe it all to my broodmares like this gal.

About
This is a club where anyone can join. It's for players who breed horses to compete, whether it's Thoroughbreds for racing, Belgians for log pull, and everything else. You don't have to train or champ your own horses, you just have to breed them! Players who are apart of this club are also eligible for exclusive contests and raffles, only for club members!!

There are 6 types of memberships, however some you cannot apply for if you don't fit the requirements. There is a place for everyone in the club! If you are a new player and haven't bred a fully trained horse with a champion title, you can apply for the new player membership, which will help you start off so that hopefully you can get an Official Membership or a Trial Membership (possibly Full Membership if you have registered at least 15 horses). If you're account is more than 2 months old, but you haven't bred a trained horse with a champion title, you would want to apply for a Trial Membership. This membership only lasts two weeks, but you would get 100k to pay for a trainer, and/or a champer if you are not able to do it yourself. If you are a member that has bred a trained horse with a champion title, you would want to apply for an Official Membership. Official members do not have a limited time on the team, and you can always upgrade to a Full Membership, or even an Exclusive Membership. You also can apply to be a leader. All memberships are 100% free!!
New Player Membership
This type of membership is meant for new players. To be eligible for this membership, you must have been on HWO for less than 2 months and you haven't bred a fully trained horse with a champion title (if you have bred a fully trained horse with a champion title, please apply for the Official Membership). Once you sign up for a new player membership, you will receive 100k, so that you can pay for a trainer and/or a champer. If you are able to breed, train, and champ a horse (only to champion title, however, it can be higher), you can re-apply for an official membership. The new player membership only lasts for 1 month and then you will have to either move to a Trial Membership (if you haven't been able to breed a horse that is fully trained and champed) or an Official Membership (you might also be able to apply for a Full Membership).
Trial Membership
This membership only lasts for 1 week, and is for players over 2 months old that haven't bred a fully trained horse with a champion title. Trial members will receive 100k as well, to pay for training and champing. Once you're trial is over, you're no longer considered a member unless you apply for the Official Membership or a Full Membership (if you have registered at least 15 horses). You can only have a Trial Membership once.
Official Membership
This membership is for players who have bred a fully trained horse with a champion title. These members are members forever (or as long as they'd like), and there is no trial time or anything like that.
Full Membership
This membership is for players who have registered at least 15 horses in the association. You cannot apply to be a full member unless you have been an Official Member, New Member, or a Trial Member efirst.
Exclusive Membership
This membership is for players who compete very often and have bred at least one record holder. This is the highest member rank you can get and you are able to apply for it if you have bred at least one record holder.
Leader
Anyone can apply to be a leader, even if you are a new player and you haven't bred a trained horse with a champion title. In order to be a leader though, you must fit these requirements:
- Kind and respectful
- Help other members
- Donate money for new and trial members (optional)
- Follow all HWO rules
- Must have a premium account for communication
If you fill out a leader application, me and the other leaders will decide whether or not to let you be a leader. Please understand that we are not trying to be mean if we say no, you can still apply for other memberships.
Registry
I will create a separate topic for the registry, but the registration requirements are:
- Horse must be fully trained
- Horse must have at least a champion title
- Horse must be bred by a member on the team
- Horse must have one or more best disciplines
Membership Benefits
Members get to join contests and raffles for team members only, which may include lots of money, free horses, free studdings to a record holder of their choice, free trainings, free champings, and much more! We will also have sales and studdings for team members only, for very cheap prices! Some sales and studdings may also come from RH lines! Full and exclusive members may get more benefits as well.
Application
Make sure you read the whole post before applying for a membership! You do not have to ping me, as I am subscribed to the topic.
