Is he grullo?
He looks grullo to me, but neither of his parents seem to have the dun allele so it shouldn't be possible, right? So if he's not grullo, what is he? And if he is, which of his parents is dun?

Yes I think he is grulla, looking at the black tips on the father's ears. The foals ears will probably show darker tips when he gets older.

Yes, he's a heterozygous grullo. The first picture has a dun, there's no way the black horse could have the dun gene - that's what makes grullo, black and dun.Corvus wrote:
