A HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE MARKET
as many of you know last time I did a forum similar to this I spammed it in every chat possible but this time I took the care to pick an appropriate column. horses for sale.
which brings attention to why I am doing this forum. our market is flooded with old add's and unwanted cheap horses. this problem makes it impossible to shop for the right horse for your purpose. which is why I think as owners and breeders its our responsibility to safely root out these old add's and unwanted horse adds.
solutions
1. kindly remind people who want to quit the game to not post their horses for offers only. so they don't have to accept the offer before the horse goes to the buyer.
2. root out old adds if you take your horse off the market remember to take the add down
3. give your self a time limit to sell your horse if the horse dose't sell in the limit create a new add.
4. rescue unwanted horses if you have the space and time.
feel free to make suggestions for solutions.
with some of these solutions we can make a easier and friendly market place.

Re: A HEALTHY AND SUSTAINABLE MARKET
A random selection of horses over HGP 55k or so, can always be used as grinding stock. AC stock can always find a home eventually, and have the added value of having 'clean' genetics, so those should be considered as more valuable and less 'cull' stock. Rare breeds can be nominally left, unless there are a number from one parent, but that is my personal opinion. Some rare breeds are from a single set or a few select horses.
And of course, there are those just starting out that are trying to earn some additional money with their... less than top-market horses, but they still have worth.
Grades have a use as well.
I always suggest cleaning from the oldest to the newest, make exceptions for AC stock and stock that looks more valuable as grinder stock. Avoid a portion of the rarer breeds and choose first any ad that has 'need to get rid of' or 'must sell' first.
That's the way I've always dealt with market cleaning, when I go through it. I age out though, I don't purchase to rehome usually. But that's a personal preference.
Remember that there is a tutorial quest to purchase an older horse over... I think it's 21 years. So some of those should be left up for tutorial players.
