Your Breeding Program Goals?

Post by GeayVarrey »

I was just wondering what everyone elses' breeding program goals are?
I'm trying to make my way to Anglo-Arabs in the end, but I have a feeling that might be quite a project. At the moment I'm trying to get my first West African Barb to eventually get some Sorraias out there, then work on some Carthusians before being able to attempt Andy's and so on and so forth.

Since all horses will be wiped I'm playing around right now. But I would love Quarter Horses in the long run :)

Long run Im thinking Knabstruppers and Norikers.

I need spotty butts in my life!

Right now Im mostly playing with colors, but sort of aiming at West African Barbs, see if I can get a couple before the next reset.

My end goal is Lipizzans. At the moment I'm a long way from that, but I've got the West African Barb down, which is a large component. I'm working on a Mongolian (I've gotten several, but I need a filly), and from there I should be able to create an Andalusian, which is a big step toward my goal.

I really love the fact that we all seem to have different end goal in mind, but to get there quicker we can all cooperate in creating the in-between breeds. In too many games you don't really get this type of encouragement to work with fellow players to achieve your goals...

I'm trying to not get too attached to my pixel ponies because of the inevitable reset/s, but I think this is prime time to get some basics strategies down; for example I realized that virtually all of my mares are on the short side, which creates a problem to get tall enough offspring. Poor midget ponies!

In the long run I'm hoping to have Kabardas and Anglo-Kabardas. Kabardas for a hardy, dependable horse that excels in endurance, trail and pulling events and then the Anglo-Kabardas for a very hardy, enduring sport horse.

I agree :) I think this game is going to be good about helping with the middle breeds required. There will be alot less inbreeding that way, not sure if that's a no-no on here due to the game being so realistic.

Eventually, I think I'll probably go for Finnhorses, Faroe Ponies and/or Icelandics. But right now, I'm just doing whatever.

Many of the base breeds will be shared... Mongolians, Sorraias, West African Barb, Spanish Barb, Andalusian. Then they branch out much more.

Just wait until public studs come around, Im sure there are plenty that will crop up
