May I sell art in exchange for Pony Tokens?
Hello,
I am new to Horse World Online, and I have in other times sold game-inspired artwork to fellow players in exchange for in-game currency. I would draw a player's favorite horse, for example. Is this permitted within the game? I would establish a forum thread with the explicit details, and work through PayPal. I would be very open about each exchange: it is easier for me to keep it all in one thread anyway for transparency and accounting's sake. Thank you

I think you are allowed to sell artwork.... You can't ask for Pony Tokens though, there is no way to transfer Pony Tokens. However, you are allowed to transfer money via a horse. Establishing a forum thread is a good idea, you can have a look at other player's threads that they use to provide services (training, boarding, ageing, etc), they all list rules, prices and need you to fill a form, stuff like that. You might want to ask a more experienced player for more infoAlove wrote:Hello,

This, I think, would broach too closely on the 'no sales for real money' policy that HWO has. What I would suggest for Pony Tokens (other than a grinder in local shows) is to use in-game monies to purchase Pony Tokens when a player offers to purchase them for other unable players.Alove wrote:Hello,

We regularly have players that will open PT purchase topics for in-game currency amounts.
So, you can certainly sell artwork (be careful to ensure the author's are marked appropriately) for in-game currency, then use those in-game currency earnings to request a player to purchase PT for you. In this way, you will not break the 'no sales for real money' rule.
No direct Paypal options between players is ever allowed on this game. We are only allowed to purchase PT and account bonuses and 'gift' them to other player accounts (either for free, from contest winnings, or as a transfer for in-game currency). And... we are taking the risk of the contract going afoul onto ourselves. Admin won't step in if things don't work out correctly.

Thank you! That settles most of my questions. Would it be prudent to create a competition with the fee being the price? I don't want to go beyond the rules or mess with competition etiquette. Regards!

Re: May I sell art in exchange for Pony Tokens?
The way I read your question, I'm suddenly drawn to thinking about the horse competitions as in log pulling, level 10, entry fee 10,000, base pot (no additional pot added). But this certainly isn't what you're asking I think.Alove wrote:Thank you! That settles most of my questions. Would it be prudent to create a competition with the fee being the price? So I'll again, hit all the answers your question drives me to.

Entry fee in player-made competitions and added pot in player-made competitions are completely open for how we want to handle them. It is recommended not to make the entry fee outclass the added pot. The competition can sit around for a long time and is a tad unfair if somebody doesn't check them before entering. After all, we cannot yet scratch our horses from the competitions. But, it is our decision, as the competition host, how we want to manage that.
Some information to help you along with using the player-mades to make money, can be found [url=viewtopic.php?f=12&t=9859]here.[/rul] It'll get you started and give you further ideas of how best to handle them.
And... with that, I cannot find your question wording to fit into any more questions!

-_- Go figure.
Anyway, if I misunderstood your question, which is entirely probable, because I am of the belief that I have, please explain it just a little better and I'll try again.
