Oh, I do make sure I don't cross related horses too often but I don't look at the COI very often.

Don't do that entrance It's a lot of headache. Do you know where is some information about future problems with COI levels? I heard something but didn't see anything related to that.
But it's fun for me to add new blood in my herd, I see more good genes in my mares. I just used quarter horse stallion with 23% COI and this was good step. Right now I'm saying goodbye to all my old mares.

I read somewhere there might be some problems due to high COI but can't remember where! I'll try to keep the COI under 50% now.
I'll try to keep some new blood in my (modest) medium light line so that next time there's a foal for you it'll have a low COI

I try not to implement feathers in my line as they're bloody hard to get rid of
Maybe if I start breeding a new line though, but not on the Akhal-Tekes
I'll focus on colts then if I get good ones!
