Competitions: Horses scored as they enter or when the show runs?

I used to know the answer to this, but I haven't needed to know for a while, and I'm afraid I've forgotten. I'm pretty sure they're scored as they are when they're entered (BCS/temperament/stats/etc) and not when the show is actually run, but some clarification would be snazzy! Thanks.

Also, I apologize if this is covered somewhere. I looked but did not find.
