How to breed lower gp horses?
I'm trying to complete the "breed a 10,000gp horse" quest, and every time I breed my 27-30k gp horses (which were the lowest I could find) together, I get slightly higher gp than either of the parents had.
Any tips?

None of us have been able to tackle this yet.RoseeDelight wrote:I'm trying to complete the "breed a 10,000gp horse" quest, and every time I breed my 27-30k gp horses (which were the lowest I could find) together, I get slightly higher gp than either of the parents had.

It also appears you may need to use the confo scores to help guide you along.
Utilize the BR to guide you toward your goal.
For the first 3 generations, you'll pop HGP slightly lower, the same and also slightly higher than the parents. This is normal as you cull out the strong genes you don't want and work toward the weakened genes you do want.
At the fourth generation, you should start to see a noticeable, though slight difference in the movement of your overall HGP.
A few things to keep in mind.
Massive HGP movement is a sign that your genes are moving in the right direction. However, it's usually a generation out and that particular foal likely will never produce what you're looking for.
You'll likely stall out a couple times. This is generally called 'hitting a plateau'. These will happen somewhere in the low 20's or high teens and then again at about 15,000 HGP and then once more as you hit the limit (so far) achieved by the rest of us at about 12,000 HGP.
Using inbreeding is the fastest way to your goal, but will ultimately limit you to how many genes you have to work with. At some point, you will realize that you can't push certain stats any lower, no matter how hard you're grinding at it.
To see what is achievable today, take a look at the two linked pastures. Keep in mind, that those in that pasture used the conformation scores as a guide, not just the Breeding Report as a guide, these horses are from attempt number 3.

If you look through their pedigrees, it might give you some ideas of the project. I also have information on my tackling of this project in my farm log. I have not yet finished this either.
