Track This Horse

Post by Ritazuki »

Ok, so, I had another idea. On the horses' page, there could be a "track this horse button". Once you click it, you start receiving notifications about that horse, even if it's not yours. The notifications would include new titles, when the horse has been bred and (in case of mares) when the mare gave birth, the horse being put up for sale or stud (in case of stallions), the horse being sold, passing on, the horse being gelded (when the feature is added) etc. If you want, you can also stop tracking the horse later on.

That would be useful, for example, if there's a certain horse you came across and you liked it. You would like to know if he is ever put up for stud or for sale, or if he has foals in the future you could possibly buy. Also for when you sell/lease a horse and you want to know what is happening to that specific horse without needing to check their page every time.

But since it can be unconvenient for the horse's owner if a lot of people were to know when the horse was put up for stud, for example (since we have private sales but not private studding), there could be a new tab on the horse's page with a few boxes you can check and uncheck. It would be kind of like this:

Horse Tracking

Allow other players to track when this horse is put up for sale: [ ]
Allow other players to track when this horse is bred: [ ]
Allow other players to track when this stallion is put up for stud: [ ]
Allow other players to track when this mare gives birth: [ ]
Allow other players to track this horse's new titles and records: [ ]
Allow other players to track when this horse is sold: [ ]
Allow other players to track when this horse passes on: [ ]
etc.

Similarly, you could be able to choose what kind of notifications you would want to receive about each horse. It would be quite annoying to be notified every time a stud is used if you just want to know his new titles or when he is put up for sale, for example. So when you click the "track his horse" button, a menu would appear and you'd choose which things you wanted to be notified about, among the things the horse's owner allowed other players to track.

I know this can be a bit complicated to do and there are other priorities at the time, but it's definitely something I'd like to see on the game.

I like this consideration as well.
It could come in handy.

I do wonder how much work this would be?
