He appears to be a red dun with Lp. Dun is almost expressionless on him, leaving only a body mask. However, with the Lp, I must note that it could be the varnish I'm mistaking for dun.
Either way, he's a chestnut base. And also, he appears that he might carry the flaxen gene (recessive), so with certain mares, he might also throw flaxen foals.
