How to breed white horse?

Post by NavanaRedWing »

How do you breed horses to get a pure white horse? What color horses do I need to breed a White horse?

I have been trying to look at how people breed white horses by looking at horses pedigree but I still can't seam to figure it out. I wanna breed some white flabella horses.

There are two basic ways to breed a pseudo-white. As of yet, and as a reminder, there is no 'white' gene or 'true white' on the game.

To breed pseudo-whites, you'll need to go the 'triple dilute path' or the tobiano path.

Tobiano is a difficult path, but basically you keep spreading the To genes until it takes over the entire body.

'Triple dilute' path is generally handled by two creams and a champagne gene and usually is also paired with silver to enhance the 'white' coloration in the mane and tail.
There are other ways to get a pseudo-white of varying degrees, but the super-brights are almost always double cream and champagne.

So... find yourself a couple of palomino horses and breed until you get a cremello, then find yourself a champagne (look for those freckles) and breed until you get a triple dilute (you'll breed one foal, that will be the Gold Creams, if they have freckles, and then that foal, you'll need to breed back to a cremello), that should be, but not necessarily will be, a cremello champagne. From there, it will be a favoring of the brighter and brighter offspring, while culling the ones that still show a 'color' until you get the super bright white that you want.

Less so then it sounds. It's just about getting the genes in. :)

You can also try the quick approach. Find yourself a double cream mare and breed her two a pseudo-white stud that's already posted on the market. Breed back to him until you get a pseudo-white colt (you'll be looking for nose freckles), then cross the colt to your mare and to all of her filly offspring.

You'll have your pseudo-white herd.
