Fastest way to make money

Post by horses4heather »

Is there faster ways to make money other than local shows? I am can make like 500 a day but my money making horses stop winning so much so now I am not making really anything. I have looked into training horses but due to being new I don't see anyone that will hire.
Just figuring stuff out. Haha

I think I cant help you out with this ^-^

1. Breed and train Grinders
Grinders are horses that are trained and sold to players to help them make money/earn days. The best breed to use are Arabians. Arabians are the best breed to use because they are already maxed out in a way. High quality Arabians can be bought for under 10k. Age doesn't really matter so you don't have to worry about training taking too long. Most horses die around 20 so dont try to sell an 18 year old horse. Try to sell them at max 16 - 17. Arabian Grinders can be sold for 20k - 300k. If you ask around a lot of players' grinders are dying left and right so there is always going to be somebody looking for one. Btw dont set the price too high or else they are less likely to sell. I usually sell them for up to 100k and thats only for 6 gold stallions. Entering them in player hosted competitions will give the player looking for a grinder a good idea of what your horse excels in and what not. If your horse has a win percentage that is over 70% you can charge a bit more. Horses that are a Champion or higher can be sold for a bit more as well. Mares sell for more than Stallions because 90% of us have a colt curse.

Arabian Stallion Studs
Make sure you pay attention not buy a horse that says transfer or stud a horse that says private :)

2. Start breeding gateway breeds
Gateway breeds are horse breeds that are used to create another. I dont know if anybody else calls them gateway breeds but I do because they open up more breeds you can achieve. Gateway breeds dont have to be complex.
This is where you can view the breeds that are achievable in HWO and how to recreate them: https://www.horseworldonline.net/wiki/breeds

Here are some example of gateway breeds that can be achieved with adoption center horses:
Ardennais and Mongolian

Fun fact: Nobody is gonna say it but I will 90% of the players trying to recreate a breed are LaZy INCLUDING MEe! If I see somebody is selling the breed I need to create a horse breed I would rather buy that than breed them myself.

The best way to put a price on gateway breeds is to look in the horse market at other horses that are for sale. Check their evals as well. At the same time ya need to be observant. If a 3* eval horse is being sold for 200k but a 5* eval horse that is the same breed and gender is being sold for 100k that means the 3* horse is overpriced and will not be bought until the 5* eval horse has been sold. You may want to sell the horse for a tad bit less or the exact same maybe 5k less. If you decide to stud a stallion to create a breed you should sell the horse for at least the stud fee. If you sell the horse for less than the stud fee youll spend more than you gain.

I've seen a lot of players tell newer players how to make money but dont tell them how to make more once they've gotten the hang of it so I will tell you the more advanced options so you wont be stuck.

Rare Breeds
Rare breeds are horse breeds in HWO that arent very popular. I consider rare being under 200. Players can be LaZy and dont want to breed the horses required to create them. In order to be succesful in selling rare breeds is youve gotta start early. For example, if you see a Russian Trotter being sold for 1 million thats when you start. THe key is not starting with breeding Russian Trotters but breeding the horses required to create them. When there is sudden demand in a horse breed those prices are going to be sky and most players are not going to be able to afford them so what are they gonna do? They're gonna try to create the breed but if somebody hasn't already bred the horses required to make the breed a lot of them just give up. So instead of them giving up theyre gonna find your perfect, amazing, high quality horses and buy those to create a Russian Trotter and then boom youre makin money

Aside from breeds booming some players like collecting rare breeds and pay a lot for them. You could breed a couple rareish breeds in your free time and make a bit of money as well. THe reason this is "advanced" is because getting your hands on a rareish breed mare can be hard and stud fees can be killer.

Ex: High movement Trakehner Stallions at stud can have killer stud fees

Training Horses
Anybody can train horses but when you are competing against players that can fully train a horse in 2 years and 10 months or less it can be hard to get business. Even though you probably wont be able to make money off of training for a while you should take this time to invest in training skills. Just like Horse Ownership skills Training skills help you train faster. You will find that it is a lot easier to train horses when you have more training skills.

When you can fully train a horse in 5 ( or under ) years thats when you should start training horses. Make your service cheap though under 40k and under per horse would work the best. Traffic will be slow at first but soon you will gain players' trust and then they will go to you whenever they need a horse training. Please dont mess somebodys horse up and know your limits. If somebody wants you to fully train a hrose in under 3 years when you know you can only train in under 5 its ok to say no. Ive made the mistake of accepting that kind of request and regretted it.

You can add additional fees for different things you can do while training.
Ex: Temperament Change and Pictures

If you do something wrong or mess something up TELL THE OWNER OF THE HORSE ASAP! I can not stress this enoughhh! Its bad enough messing something up but its even worse when instead of you telling the owner the owner finds out themselves. Most of the time when things go wrong the owner will be lenient and pretty forgiving but mess around and let them find out on their own what you messed up and you can bet there will be huge ruckus and they WILL tell people about what happened and those people will tell others and soon enough your are a player that can not be trusted.

Thats what I can think of rn if I think of anything else I will tell you about it. Lmk which one you think youre going to go with and I can elaborate a bit more on it so you wont be too confused. I can help you financially a bit and any other questions you have about HWO.

Btw know how much money you make and how/when you can make it. I know those fancy barns that can hold 12 horses are pretty and all but think before you buy it. If you have 100k and decide you want to buy a barn sure go ahead but if you have 60k and decide to spend a little over 59k on a barn thats not a good idea. You should always have a good amount of money left over or else BANKRUPT 0.o

Oh and try to stay out of drama you dont want to be known for being a drama magnet like me or at least try not to get into it while youre new because there isnt much good to balance out the bad since most of us dont know you well
