I don't know if any one else has gotten a foal this small, but wow! I was not expecting one this tiny from this breeding. 9 inches at birth and my smallest foal to date.

And 5 lbs.! At the moment she's almost a purse pooch. Also of interest, she's talented -- has excellent Breeders comments for In-Hand Jumping and Driving disciplines. Now if she would stop stepping on the groom's toes ...

I have a tiny horse project on my other account. I regularly get 10-11 inch foals at birth, but usually out of my 16-19 inch horses. I never expected such a tiny foal from this mare.

Those persistent Tutorials have been annoying to me as well.

The only reasons I can see that you would not be able to breed a mare (since your pasture would have enough room*) are that you may not yet have acquired the "Horse Ownership" skill level (taken enough Owner courses) to have an adequate number of horses, or that you haven't taken enough "Reproduction" or "Broodmare" courses to qualify.

*Unborn foals count toward your farm population, your Ownership total, and the total capacity of a barn or pasture: a 4-horse barn can hold 4 stallions or youngsters or unbred mares, but only 2 pregnant mares.

How you breed a mare is: you go to the Profile page of the stallion you want. If it's not a stallion on your own farm, you could find him by going through the Stud ads in Market, or by clicking on a successful horse in Competition Rankings. Rankings can be sorted by discipline (like Dressage, Racing, Log Pull, or 19 others), gender, and breed. Breed rankings at this time include Mixed, Part, and Half. Not all top-20 competitive stallions will be available, but there will be some.

On any Profile page, there is a row of command boxes under the horse: left to right, they concern Sale, Stud, or Rehome. If the horse is for sale, it will show a price. If the horse is available for public breeding, it will say "Breed Horse $---". You click on this box if you have enough money. Then you'll see a list of your eligible mares, or a note that you don't have any available (that happens when they are all pregnant, or if they are still "Filly" age, under 4 years). Choose the mare you want and click.

Then you should get a message that "a foal may result in 20-26 turns". The game is set to allow all pregnancies to come to full term and produce a live foal -- if anything other than that happens, report it to the "Bugs" topic. Your account is debited for the stud fee (non-refundable), and 20 minutes elapse on your farm. You can't breed with less that 20 minutes left of your farm day; you have to advance to the next day. Most mares take about 22=25 turns to foal (that would be 11 months to 1 year 1 month in the horses' ages and farm time); I had one go 27 turns. Twins don't happen in this game.

She's so small!
I wonder how big she would be, let us know please ^_^

She's two years old now and 14 inches tall. I'm thinking she might not get much bigger. I'm guessing 15 inches, or 16 max. I'm training her up, actually my first horse I've decided to train.

I got another 9 inch filly a couple days ago, related to my first. And today I got a 9 inch colt. I haven't fully checked the pedigree, but he isn't an immediate relative of the fillies. I will definitely be excited to see what they produce together.
