Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Post by darklass »

how do you know when you have a new breed? i crossed my Mongolian mare with a Chinese pony trying to get a Tibetan pony but it says Mongolian x Chinese Pony [50%] does this mean that i didn't get a Tibetan pony?

Yes. There's a little bit of chance involved when creating a new breed. Sometimes it takes quite a few attempts before a new breed is born. However, once it happens, it'll immediately say the new breed and not that it's a cross.

If you have the book for the tibetan pony, then you can see just how close your sire and dam is to what the tibetan should be. The closer they are to evaluating as a tibetan pony, the better chances you'll have of having a tibetan born from the match. However, just because they're not perfect, doesn't mean that you have no chance of getting a tibetan, it just means it'll be less chance.

Seina's Extensive User Guide goes into a lot of detail, and it is long, but even now I still find myself referring back to it when I forget something.
