Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Arappaloosa Cob

Post by Paitedcloud »

Hello everybody. I started my own breeding program of painted feathered horses, which I name Arappaloosa Cob

About:
Arappaloosa Cobs as I have started breeding them are meant to be tall and feathered versions of Arabians. They have been bred specifically to compete at Dressage, but I noticed some of them do well in Harness Racing. Horses have to rate 4* Arabian (they won't rate 5* because they are taller), have any kind of feathers (it's better if they are painted, but not necessary)

Goals:
The goal of this breeding community is to give this breed popularity, bring rare colours to the game, as well as using it for breeding stock for other breeds.

A little advice:
I bred a few and I will give the following advice:
-Breed Purebred Arabians with Appaloosas first, or Arappaloosas. I keep any horse that stick to the 4* Arabian rule (it doesn't matter if they are painted but not feathered, or feathered but not painted) because they are useful. These Arabian x Appaloosa or Arappaloosa are crossed to any tall horse with feathers. I prefer Friesians, but you could use Clydesdales too
-When breeding with a too bulky stallion, make sure your mare has a low body size. As well as when breeding to a Medium Light horse, make sure your mare is a Very Light rating

This stallion produced the most part of my Arappaloosa Cobs, I recommend him:

Noble Enigma

And here is the registry of all the Arappaloosa Cobs, post a comment so I add your horses:

Chantal Manie

Ivory Man

Noble Frenchman

A Zar's Deal

I'm working on color with my Appaloosa line as well. I would love to breed a couple of mares to your stallion.
